Responding to the needs of a wide consumer base seeking the finest quality in white wines, in 2003 CASTILLO DE MAETIERRA led the pioneering project in La Rioja to set up the Valles de Sadacia label.

Many of the cellar’s initiatives have been revolutionary, whether starting a project in La Rioja based exclusively on white wines, to conceiving of a range of dry whites combining Muscat a petits grains with other indigenous local varieties such as Viura and Malvasía, via the introduction of a selection of some of the best foreign white varieties, with the aim of recovering the vine growing tradition of one of the spots with the longest history in La Rioja.

Each of the steps taken by the bodega, in surroundings not exactly accustomed to change, has been preceded by incredulity and then followed by astonishment. The success is all down to a team of great professionals, all very well prepared and with an enormous desire to improve.
